Maintenance Specialist I

Performs entry-level building maintenance and construction work, assisting in maintaining and repairing buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment; operates motorized equipment. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for initiative. Performs maintenance, construction, and repair work such as masonry, welding, carpentry, painting, or mechanical work. May assist with preventative maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and utility systems. May repair and upholster furniture. Loads and unloads trucks; moves furniture and heavy supplies. May assist with plumbing, electrical, or HVAC work. Requires following instructions and working from drawings/diagrams/blueprints; effective communication. Education/Experience: Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent preferred; experience substitution allowed. This is a TEMPORARY position through Goodwill of Central East Texas Inc. under a state set-aside contract for assisting people with disabling conditions; start ASAP.
