Job Summary
Repair and maintain automated material handling system components by diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings and diagnostic tools. Independently perform audits, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment while ensuring safety and quality procedures are followed. Provide solutions to technical/control issues, clean conveyor systems, and complete work orders according to established procedures. Work at heights up to 40ft and handle general facility maintenance tasks including plumbing and electrical repairs. Be prepared for a schedule that may include holidays, weekends, and extreme temperatures, with the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push carts weighing 200 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of related experience in mechanical troubleshooting, technical troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or installation
- Adept at analyzing and resolving mechanical and technical issues
- Excellent hand-eye coordination skills
- Ability to read, recognize, write, and follow applicable numbers and directives in English
- Command of basic math skills
- Flexibility to maintain a schedule that may include holidays and weekends
- Strong understanding of safety procedures (including lock-out/tag-out)
- Strong electrical background
- Knowledge of low voltage controls
- PLC experience
- Prior experience or working knowledge of conveyor and/or sortation systems
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Solid electrical troubleshooting and controls troubleshooting abilities
- Capability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to push or pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and grasp products
- Be prepared to work at heights of 40ft or more
- Be willing and able to get certified on powered industrial equipment
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with 3 phase systems up to 480VAC
- Hold Certificate(s)/License(s) in related fields such as Journeymen or Master Electrician, CMRP, and/or CMRT
- Experience with CMMS
- Prior experience or working knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens products
- Network troubleshooting experience
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience working with and managing outside vendors, customers, and business partners
- Prior working knowledge of current building vendors, software, platforms, and systems
- Previous industry-based experience
- Visual acuity to read fine print as needed
- Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions
