Job Summary
Maintenance Specialist - Facilities supports City of Prescott facilities by performing installation, maintenance and repairs across systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, drywall, carpentry, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include operating city vehicles and lifts, checking gauges and fluid levels, performing electrical wiring repairs, plumbing maintenance, roofing repairs, drywall installation and patching, HVAC unit checks and filter replacements, assisting in cost estimates, and coordinating with supervision. The role may require night and weekend work and on-call periods. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of building maintenance experience, plus 2 years HVAC/Electrical training; licenses or certifications (general contractor license or IFMA CFM/FMP) are highly desired. Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards (OSHA), blueprints/schematics, and ability to read and communicate effectively is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; plus five (5) years of building maintenance experience.
- Two (2) years HVAC and Electrical training.
- A general contractor's license, a relevant professional trade license, and/or IFMA CFM or FMP certification is highly desired.
Desired Qualifications
- IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification
- General contractor's license or relevant professional trade license
- Two years HVAC and Electrical training
- Experience in building maintenance (5+ years)
- Ability to read electrical/mechanical blueprints and schematics
- OSHA safety compliance training
