Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary
Supervise, develop, and motivate maintenance workers for equipment troubleshooting, facility repairs, and utility maintenance. Aggressively manage breakdown requirements and schedule daily activities to ensure safe, timely, and satisfactory conclusions. Evaluate equipment functionality, schedule repairs, and implement preventative maintenance procedures. Oversee outside contractors and track individual mechanic performance. Directly assist with repairs and manage the maintenance budget while ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Requires 5+ years of experience in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or instrumentation systems. Full-time role with potential for extended hours, holidays, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of maintenance experience
- Advanced education in electrical, mechanical
- 1 year of direct supervisory experience
- Knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of general facility repairs
- Previous experience in mechanical
- Previous experience in plumbing
- Previous experience in HVAC
- Previous experience in electrical
- Previous experience in instrumentation
- Experience in at least two of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and instrumentation
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making
- Ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction
- Strong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to build strong trusted working relationships with internal and external business customers and executive-level management
- Basic computer literacy with the ability to do basic statistical analysis
- Ability to communicate factual information and provide direction
- Experience working in a 24/7 operation
- Willingness to work holidays or weekends
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong commitment to safety
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve safety and company goals
