Job Summary
Operate vehicles, machinery, tools, and heavy equipment on airport properties to perform maintenance, operational, construction, and safety services including turf management, pavement management, snow removal, spreading stone, grading roads, clearing drains, trash removal, and mounting signs. Safely work in congested areas with airplanes and adverse weather while maintaining FAA Part 139 compliance and communicating with air traffic control. Respond to emergencies and inclement weather incidents, including extended snow removal events, and perform routine vehicle maintenance, basic welding, and minor fence repairs. Manage work orders, conduct equipment training, and provide backup assistance to other departments as directed. Requires a valid CDL Class B and willingness to work off-hour schedules and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years of heavy equipment operation related experience
- 2-4 years of related experience or comparable Military training
- Valid Driver's License - Class D
- Secure ramp driving certification within 180 days of hire
- Forklift certification within 90 days of hire
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class B within 1 year of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field
- 1-3 years of pavement management experience
- 1-3 years of airport/airline experience
