Job Summary

Coach maintenance employees and guide BDA, MPS, Root Cause Analysis, and Risk Prediction projects to completion. Lead meetings, assist Production Managers and operators with urgent equipment troubleshooting, and monitor continuous improvement systems including 5S, Kaizen, and Breakdown Elimination. Correct mechanical and electrical issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs while improving shop safety and GMP compliance. Participate in improvement teams and prepare documentation for parts lists and pricing. Work independently at the Indianapolis Bakery plant during the 3:00 PM to 12:00 PM shift, earning $44.41 an hour plus shift differential.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 year degree in Industrial Maintenance, or 5 years of maintenance experience
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Experience performing mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting
  • Experience with electrical circuitry including: repairing and replacing motors, logic controls and process troubleshooting
  • Experience diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems, correcting them using a variety of tools and blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs, and creating parts lists with pricing for parts
  • Able to learn all plant operational equipment and processes
  • Expert in using shop tools such as Lathe, Mills, precision installation and PdM tools
  • Sound knowledge of product types, department rules, GMP's, FDA, OSHA, Safety and Quality
  • Technical skills relative to plant equipment
  • Ability to coach maintenance employees
  • Ability to involve manager for support when needed
  • Ability to guide BDA, MPS, Root Cause Analysis, Risk Prediction, UPS, Safety incidents and other issues to completion
  • Ability to be a mechanic-trainer, responsible for coaching mechanics and correcting mechanics
  • Ability to prepare and lead meetings
  • Ability to assist the Maintenance Manager, Production Managers, operators and mechanics with equipment troubleshooting
  • Ability to monitor and teach the continuous improvement systems to mechanics
  • Ability to participate in improvement projects and teams, including 5S, UPS, Kaizen, Breakdown Elimination, Defect Handling, Planning/Scheduling
  • Ability to improve 5S, housekeeping and GMP, in relation to tools, shop safety and equipment repair
  • Ability to work in an environment with moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Ability to be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Ability to wear safety glasses, ear plugs, hair net, uniform, and hard hat when in production area
  • Ability to work in a loud noise level environment
