Job Summary
Maintain and repair diesel and non-diesel equipment, trucks, and refuse bodies, focusing on chassis components, hydraulic systems, air brakes, and engine work. Diagnose multi-system malfunctions using electronic tools and perform preventative maintenance on-site and on the road. Execute line maintenance welding and fabrication as needed, while conducting tire rotations and tread depth checks. Complete applicable company training programs and support drivers ensuring equipment returns to operation safely. Work a regular swing shift from 3pm to 12am with direct supervision from a Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 Years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair
- Graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to diagnose multi-system issues
- Consistently demonstrate technical expertise
- Basic understanding of work order labor time standards
- Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships
- Ability to perform basic inspections with limited supervision in some (not all required) of the following heavy truck, or automotive systems: suspensions & steering; general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions
Desired Qualifications
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8)
- Commercial Driver's License
