Maintenance Shop Technician A

Job Summary

Maintain and repair diesel and non-diesel equipment, trucks, and refuse bodies, including chassis components, air brake systems, engine work, HVAC, and suspension. Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools, perform line maintenance, welding, and fabrication, and identify malfunctions using electronic tools. Complete applicable company training programs and support drivers servicing technically advanced vehicles on-site and on the road. Work a regular shift in a stable industry with direct supervision from a Lead Technician or Maintenance Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 -7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to diagnose multi-system issues
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate technical expertise
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision
  • Complete understanding of diesel fuel systems and fuel systems diagnostics
  • Complete understanding of Aftertreatment systems, REGEN and diagnostics
  • Able to diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools
  • Line maintenance, welding and fabrication
  • Identifies the source of the malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools
  • Completes applicable Company training programs

Desired Qualifications

  • ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8)
  • LNG and/or CNG experience
  • Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License
  • Preferred CDL B
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some (not all required) of the following heavy truck, or automotive systems: Suspensions & Steering, General Engine, Transmissions, Brakes, Electrical, Hydraulics, Drive Train, Diesel Emissions
