Job Summary
Oversee and supervise daily operations of the maintenance shop and service lane, including coordinating work orders, managing staff, ensuring safe and efficient vehicle maintenance, and maintaining repair quality for the DASH fleet. Lead diagnostic and repair activities, track parts usage, liaise with vendors, enforce OSHA and company standards, and maintain documentation. Utilize fleet maintenance software and standard office tools; ensure licensing and certifications are current; support testing and verification of completed maintenance; foster a positive, inclusive work environment. Requires a High School diploma or GED with three years of transit maintenance experience; CDL with Passenger and Air-Brake endorsements within 60 days; ASE certifications preferred; diesel experience required; EV experience preferred; union experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Associates degree or higher highly preferred
- Minimum of three years of experience in transit maintenance services, facility maintenance services, and general vehicle maintenance or related field
- Diesel experience required
- Electric vehicle experience preferred
- Must possess or be able to acquire within 60 days of hire a Virginia, Maryland, or District of Columbia Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and Air-Brake endorsement
- ASE certifications strongly preferred
- Experience working in a union environment preferred
- Knowledge and experience with fixed route transit operations preferred
- DOT, FTA, and FMCSA policies and regulations knowledge preferred
