Job Summary
Maintain and repair diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic systems, and air brakes. Perform preventative maintenance, light engine work, suspension repairs, and line maintenance welding. Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools and safely provide road service to return company equipment to operation. Complete applicable training programs and perform basic tire work as assigned. Work a regular shift supporting drivers on routes while maintaining a moderate skill proficiency in heavy truck systems.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise
- Basic understanding of work order labor time standards
- Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships
- 3-5 Years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair or graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months
- Valid Driver's License
