Maintenance Shift Supervisor

Job Summary

Supervise a team of 5 to 20 maintenance employees performing preventative and corrective maintenance, emergency repairs, installations, and modifications of plant production and service equipment. Complete preventative maintenance schedules, restore, repair, rebuild, or replace defective parts to ensure plant equipment operates properly. Assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities while consulting with production supervisors and engineers on problem solutions. Monitor major plant utilities systems, review operational logs, and supervise repairs to improve efficiency. Implement and enforce safety programs, conduct onsite audits, and respond to abnormal fire protection system alarms. Submit job safety plans for projects and lead investigations of injury-free events to determine corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

  • AS or Technical Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of related professional and progressive manufacturing experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams
  • Local candidates only

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff preferred
  • Union experience is a plus
  • Lead Man or Foreman at a similar operation
  • Strong leadership and troubleshooting skills
  • Administrative and good organizational skills
  • High level of competency in both oral and written communications
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers
