Job Summary
Assign and direct maintenance personnel to ensure work is properly completed on assigned shifts while training, mentoring, and monitoring safety procedures. Respond to machinery breakdowns, support daily plant operations, and perform preventive maintenance, set-ups, and sanitation teardowns. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, execute repairs, and complete new installations or modifications. Record shift work and training data, report issues with machinery and personnel, and enforce company rules and food safety standards. Lead others, organize priorities, and act as a role model for quality and compliance. Available for any shift including weekends and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical & Mechanical certification or 2 years equivalent experience in each discipline
- Minimum 2 year's experience as a lead maintenance mechanic or foreman in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to systematically troubleshoot and problem-solve electrical and mechanical systems and components
- Strong technical aptitude & knowledge of standard mechanical and electrical practices, codes, & standards
- Ability to learn new equipment and subjects with limited instruction (i.e., read manuals) and apply new knowledge to complete assignments
- Must be able to walk, sit, & stand for several hours, and climb stairs and ladders
- Must be able to lead others, organize and prioritize work, & assign personnel accordingly
- Must know how to use test instruments such as digital multi-meter, gages, laptop computer, & various electronic devices, and standard hand & power tools
- Must be able to read blueprints, electrical drawings, and schematics
- Must be able to understand and troubleshoot PLC, VFD, and Servo controllers
- Must be able to fabricate from blueprints in wood, stainless, plastic, etc.
- Must have own tools and know how to use machine shop tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and punches
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be available to work any shift including weekends
- Must be able to report to work to handle emergency repair work
