Job Summary
Maintenance Repair Worker I in Saint John District Sussex handles building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and painting maintenance, plans, inspects, organizes, and performs general and preventative maintenance on departmental offices and buildings; may perform occasional custodial duties; coordinates and assists tradespeople and contractors; maintains inventory and the maintenance shop; prepares cost estimates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED with a minimum of three (3) years’ work-related experience at the semiskilled level in the buildings, mechanical and/or electrical occupations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.
