Job Summary
Maintenance Repair Worker based in the San Diego Youth Services facilities program. Full-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Chief Program Officer and Facilities Manager. Responsibilities include repairs and maintenance across SDYS properties (electrical, patchwork, drywall, carpentry, doors, windows, cement, painting, plumbing, furnace maintenance, lock installation/repair); maintaining data records and monthly reports of materials; advising staff on preventative maintenance; assisting with vendor bid reviews and ensuring contract compliance with licensed contractors; and supporting upkeep of safe, functional facilities. Requires five years of building-maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license and insurance, own tools, flexibility to work from home/road/office as needed, and willingness to undergo fingerprinting/clearances. General Contractor’s license is preferred. Hourly pay range: $22-$24.
Required Qualifications
- Five years’ experience in general repairs and building maintenance to include electrical, patchwork, carpentry, doors, windows, cement, painting, plumbing, drywall install, furnace maintenance, lock repair, etc.
- Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
- Must provide own transportation and tools.
- Must be willing to be fingerprinted and other clearance processes (hire is pending the results of appropriate clearances).
- General Contractor’s License is preferred but not required.
