Job Summary
Maintain electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and drywall systems across San Diego Youth Services properties while ensuring contract compliance and accurate record-keeping. Assist the Facilities Manager in developing maintenance schedules, reviewing vendor bids, and supervising outside contractors to uphold HIPAA standards. Advise staff on preventative maintenance issues and participate in resource development planning as assigned. This full-time, non-exempt role requires five years of general repair experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 30 pounds. Pay ranges from $24-$26 hourly, with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, PTO, and a 403(b) match.
Required Qualifications
- Five years' experience in general repairs and building maintenance to include electrical, patchwork, carpentry, doors, windows, cement, painting, plumbing, drywall install, furnace maintenance, lock repair, etc.
- Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
- Must provide own transportation and tools.
- Must be willing to be fingerprinted and other clearance processes (hire is pending the results of appropriate clearances).
- Must be able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
- Possess manual dexterity.
- Possess flexibility to accomplish job responsibilities in several work environments, whether it be from home, on the road, or in an office.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of service partner protected health information and other applicable information and material in accordance to agency and center policies, and applicable regulations and laws including HIPAA.
Desired Qualifications
- General Contractor's License is preferred but not required.
- Having good mechanical and mathematical aptitude is preferred.
