Maintenance/Repair Technician

Job Summary
Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and maximize reliability. Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting, repair, and installation of industrial systems and controls. Diagnose faulty operations, replace defective parts, and document all activities in the computerized maintenance management system. Manage emergency repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service while adhering to strict safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify long-term solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High School/Vocational School Graduate or GED
- Associate's degree
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship
- 5+ years of experience in production/manufacturing environment
- Strong hydraulic skills
- Strong pneumatic skills
- Strong electrical skills
- Strong mechanical skills
- Industrial skills
- Experience in robotics
- Troubleshooting PLCs
- Basics in welding
- Ability to independently manage tasks
- Ability to prioritize workload
- Ability to adapt to changing operational needs with minimal direction or supervision
- Detail oriented
- Proficient in verbal and written communication in both individual and group settings
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality and ISO documents, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (i.e. oral, written, and print)
- Ability to learn and safely use material handler equipment
- Forklift operator certification
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Ability to use jigs, rules, tapes, combination squares, calipers, and gages
- Ability to recognize, measure and record tolerances to specification
- Ability to use various hand and power tools including clamps, drivers, wrenches, taps, grinders, brushes, saws, stud welders, spot welders, hampers, torque wrenches, etc.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, drives, and control circuits
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work across multiple trades (mechanical, plumbing, hydraulics, and pneumatics)
- Proven ability to work safely
- Ability to follow all lockout/tagout procedures
- Ability to adhere to OSHA regulations
- Ability to participate and/or lead in safety practices and review
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience and production maintenance experience
- Experience in robotics
- Troubleshooting PLCs
- Basics in welding
- Electrical Journeyman License
- Weld Certification
- Robotics strongly recommended
- Ability to work cross functionally, outside of determined schedule, when customer/production demand requires
- Ability to partner with assembly, fabrication, and weld teams to proactively identify maintenance needs and recommend long-term solutions
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional leadership to ensure spare parts, tools, and materials are available for planned work
