Job Summary
Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspection of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues with extrusion machinery, reading schematics to perform repairs and replacement of faulty components. Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment while fabricating parts or making machine modifications. Maintain chiller and plant air supply systems, record spare part usage, and document all work requests and failures in the CMMS. Perform arc and mig welding, operate machine shop equipment, and support food safety culture activities. Work on-call every other weekend with a salary range of $28.50 to $34.00 hourly. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical or vocational training in maintenance related fields
- Proven experience as a Maintenance II in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Experience with PLCs and other manufacturing control systems
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Problem solving skills and abilities to work well under pressure
- Knowledge of Extrusion machines and their functions
- 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience
- Highly motivated and able to work independently
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to effectively handle pressure and challenges
- Capability to take proactive steps in managing problems
- Lift and carry 50 pounds
- Bend, turn and lift while performing the job
- Climb stairs and stand for extended periods
- Work on scissor lift at heights of 20 feet
- Use given breaktime responsibly
- Ability to work around very hot items
- Possess the knowledge of lock out, tag out (LOTO) and always follow safe work practices
- Follow safe work practices
- Use the correct personal protected equipment (PPE) while performing maintenance tasks
- Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly to supervisor
- Ensure compliance with AIB and SQF rules
- Support Food Safety Culture activities within the organization
- Support Food Safety Management System
- Follow Food Safety Code for Manufacture of Food Packaging
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to document work requests, work orders, and machinery failures for machines and equipment using computer maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical and pneumatics schematics
- Possess the knowledge and understanding of industrial electrical wiring and 3 phase/ 480 Volts
- Possess the knowledge and understanding of process controls
- Knowledgeable of A/C and D/C motors and controls
- Understands PLC process controls
- Maintain chiller system
- Maintain plant air supply system
- Ability to fabricate needed parts or make machine modifications
- Arc and/or Mig welding experience
- Maintains resin delivery system
- Record and maintain spare part usage
- Knowledgeable in operating machine shop equipment: Milling machine, lathes, welding, surface grinders, drill press and band saw
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
Desired Qualifications
- Technical or vocational training in maintenance related fields is preferred
- Experience with PLCs and other manufacturing control systems is an advantage
- Knowledge & Experience Knowledge of Extrusion machines and their functions are preferred
