Job Summary
Diagnose and repair maintenance issues; maintain service and maintenance records; purchase required parts, tools, and supplies according to State policy; repair buildings and structures; assist with snow removal; travel with reasonable accommodation; read blueprints; work with masonry, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and various tools; operate hand and power tools and heavy equipment; work independently; potential supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of various trades including masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Working knowledge of radio communications and procedures
- Working knowledge of appropriate safety precautions needed for a variety of repairs
- Ability to use a variety of automotive, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tools for routine maintenance and repair
- Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records
- Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment
- Ability to work independently and provide self-motivation
- Ability to read and follow guidelines and blueprints to complete construction projects
- Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation
- A degree is not required
- Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
