Job Summary
Maintenance Recycling Processing Specialist II responsible for processing recyclable materials via BioSAFE or STI machinery, operating a 26’ straight truck to move full/empty bins between Madison and other campus locations, and assisting Maintenance Technicians with repairs and preventive maintenance. Will help maintain building support systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air), enter and close work orders, perform PM/CM tasks, conduct regular inspections, respond to outages, monitor alarms, manage material flow and lab support, ensure regulatory compliance (GMP, OSHA, FDA, USDA), and support safety and quality management systems. Requires 2+ years of relevant experience, forklift certification within 90 days, 26’-truck certification within 90 days, Hazmat certification within 90 days, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel as needed (including between Exact Sciences locations). Also emphasizes strong documentation, communication, teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to safety and inclusion.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties
- Basic understanding of facility-related systems
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Possession of or ability to obtain a forklift certification within 90 days of hire date and maintain it throughout employment in the position
- 1+ years of experience driving vehicles larger than 15ft
- Possession of or ability to become certified to operate up to or including a 26-foot straight truck with air brakes within 90 days of hire date and maintain throughout employment in the position
- Possession of or ability to become Hazmat certified within 90 days of hire date and maintain throughout employment in the position
- Possession of a valid driver’s license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed
- No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months
- No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol-related suspension, etc., in the last 36 months
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Demonstrated ability to perform the position’s Essential Duties with or without accommodation
