Maintenance / Production Manager

Job Summary
Provide front-line leadership for a designated production team, overseeing safety, quality, efficiencies, and plant maintenance while meeting customer expectations. Direct production activities, scheduling, and performance management; establish shift metrics and monitor operational data. Coordinate with other departments, manage tool store inventory, and control labor overtime, downtime, and repair expenses through cost-effective systems. Act as the first point of contact for operators, conduct direct maintenance, and lead employee start-up meetings. Prepare payroll hours, review documentation and reports, and maintain shop floor organization and housekeeping. This role requires 5-10 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, including knowledge of 6S, lean programs, ISO 9001, and OSHA regulations. Candidates must work multiple shifts between 8-12 hours, exceeding 40 hours weekly, with flexibility for travel or overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of supervisory and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent experience
- Experience with 6S, lean manufacturing programs implementing and/or managing an Operating System
- Previous experience working in a Lean environment
- Self-directed team player with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts between 8-12 hours, more than 40 hours a week, travel and/or overnight stays
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment
- Offer highest level of innovation and problem-solving skills
- Able to transfer information to large groups and/or influence others
- Have a solid understanding of manufacturing, production and maintenance, Quality systems (ISO 9001), and OSHA regulations
- Have exceptional reading comprehension, problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to use the internet/e-mail, internal manufacturing computer system, presentation, spreadsheet, and Word processing software
- Financial management, budgetary responsibility, forecasting/projections, etc.
- Wear steel boots or composite toed shoes, safety glasses, work gloves, hearing protection, and resistant sleeves
- If driving is required in order to complete the essential functions of this position, a valid driver's license is required
- Concentrate, attentiveness, decision making, managing multiple projects and tasks, high pressure for results, independent judgement, discretion, high level of record keeping, respond to difficult situations, read, and comprehend instructions and work orders
- Respond to unpredictability, organize prioritize and relate to others
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
