Job Summary
Maintenance-Prod Auto Tech responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated processing and packaging systems; monitor daily production automation to ensure continuous and efficient operation; perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation equipment; collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to resolve mechanical, electrical, and control issues; support installation and commissioning of new automated equipment and system upgrades; maintain accurate technical documentation and maintenance records; identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing automation projects; follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety, and operational standards. REQUIREMENTS: 2+ years of hands-on experience with automation and controls in a food manufacturing or similar industrial environment; experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, PanelView HMIs, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus); knowledge of PLC programming, industrial communication networks, and control systems; ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams; strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork; commitment to safety and operational excellence; ability to work flexible schedule including weekends/holidays; physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs; willing to wear PPE in a hot/cold/dusty/humid food-production environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or Associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with automation and controls in a food manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, PanelView HMIs, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus).
- Strong problem-solving skills, innovative mindset, and ability to learn quickly.
- Knowledge of PLC programming, industrial communication networks, and control systems.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
