Job Summary
Review maintenance requirements from the Reliability Centered Maintenance process to generate new Maintenance Procedure Cards identified on the approved Maintenance Requirement List. Develop detailed procedures for preventive and corrective tasks, identifying required tools, consumables, and warnings. Research technical and supply data to translate Original Equipment Manufacturers' recommendations into Coast Guard format, reviewing drawings for accuracy and providing recommendations for updates. Validate technical information through ship visits or data calls to the fleet, implementing changes based on field-generated feedback reports. Format technical information to align with the approved process and ensure clear, straightforward documentation. Requires at least five years of engineering experience with Electronic and Weapons Handling Systems, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and a Bachelor's degree. Salary range is $75,000 - $90,000.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience in the field
- Completion of formal training in Maintenance Procedure Card (MPC) development and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)
- 5 years' practical engineering experience for the operation, test, maintenance and repair of Electronic and Weapons Handling Systems and Equipment
- 2 years' experience preparing original technical documentation involving the operation, maintenance or testing of Electronic and Weapons Handling Systems and Equipment
- 2 years' experience developing PMS performed under an active NAVSEA 04 RCM Level I and/or II Certification
- Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge and comprehension of technical drawings, test specifications, reports, naval messages, and equipment operating procedures to technical documentation in a straightforward and easily understood manner
- Ability to follow applicable military specifications and best practices solutions
- Excellent communication, writing, grammar, and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail with organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree in related field of study
- Ability to obtain Public Trust prior to hire and maintain during employment
