Job Summary
Building Services Engineer - Plumbing bias responsible for maintaining M&E systems, monitoring BMS, performing PPM and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults in HVAC-related plant, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring safety/compliance; strong NVQ-level plumbing/mechanical qualifications and BMS familiarity required.
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2/3 Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or equivalent trade qualification
- Formal training in mechanical systems (City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent), ideally with a focus on HVAC or plumbing
- Strong understanding of heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, and associated controls
- Experience in maintaining and repairing pumps, valves, pipework, and other plumbing components
- Ability to diagnose and resolve faults in mechanical plant, including chillers, boilers, and air handling units
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) for monitoring and troubleshooting environmental conditions
- Good knowledge of health and safety practices, including permits to work and risk assessments
- Excellent communication skills and basic IT proficiency for updating maintenance records
