Job Summary
Maintenance Planner contributes to plant productivity by writing detailed job plans for work requests, preventive and predictive maintenance, including labor, time, parts, tools, access, and permitting. Builds and maintains a 2-4 week backlog aligned with production needs; coordinates with Operations, Engineers, Quality, and other internal customers to ensure planned activities are ready and executed safely. Develops area-specific plans, collaborates with maintenance supervisors to prioritize workflow, feeds back improvements to planning procedures, maintains a database of job plans, and communicates daily with plant personnel. Leverages CMMS (SAP) for planning and scheduling, identifies resources and scaffold requirements ahead of time, and leads backlog reviews and weekly scheduling meetings to ensure timely completion and adherence to KPIs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Technology related field preferred
- 5-8 years of related professional experience in a heavy industrial environment
- Experience using CMMS for maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution
- Familiarity with SAP maintenance system is preferred but not required
- Must be self-motivated, diligent, detail oriented, and possess strong time management
- Ability to read and interpret prints, schematics, assembly drawings, and machine manuals
- Strong writing skills; able to communicate instructions clearly
- Good interpersonal skills and adaptability to feedback
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Prior maintenance planning experience a must
