Job Summary
Maintenance Planner/Buyer responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing MRO parts and services to support efficient plant operations; includes supplier negotiations, PO issuance, contract management, cost-saving initiatives, supplier relationships, inventory optimization, cycle counts, and coordination of maintenance work orders and materials. Requires ERP/MRP proficiency, strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of procurement regulations, experience in manufacturing environments, and potential certification in CPSM/CSCP; role involves adherence to policies, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement of procurement processes; expected to support budgeting and documentation of maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in MRO procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management (preferred)
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and procurement software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices in procurement
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or plant maintenance environments
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a plus
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts, including probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry
- Proficiency in using fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical procurement scenarios
- Ability to solve practical problems and manage diverse variables with limited standardization
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions presented in various formats (written, oral, diagrams, schedules)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Business Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
