Job Summary
Maintenance Planner/Buyer coordinates maintenance planning activities and procurement of maintenance-related materials, parts, and services to support efficient plant operations. The role utilizes Business Central ERP for purchasing and MVP One CMMS for maintenance scheduling and reporting, develops and maintains preventative maintenance schedules, schedules corrective maintenance based on priorities, coordinates shutdowns and planned repairs, manages work orders, tracks performance metrics (downtime, PM completion, backlog, response times), and collaborates with maintenance, production, purchasing, and vendor partners while ensuring safety, GMP, and company standards. Responsibilities include sourcing and purchasing parts and services, managing inventory levels, obtaining quotes, evaluating pricing, supplier performance, creating purchase orders, coordinating with accounting on invoices, managing budgets and cost-control initiatives, maintaining records in ERP and CMMS, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, proactive, communicates effectively, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with experience using ERP and CMMS systems and a strong focus on reliability and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Maintenance, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred
- 3–7 years of experience in maintenance scheduling, maintenance planning, purchasing, manufacturing operations, or related roles
- Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Experience utilizing ERP systems, preferably Business Central ERP
- Experience using CMMS platforms, preferably MVP One CMMS
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and maintenance workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
