Job Summary
Perform painting, drywall installation, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and equipment repair while troubleshooting and initiating fixes. Collaborate with the Director of Facilities to develop repair approaches for the physical plant, solve unique problems using analytical skills, and maintain a safe work environment. Work independently or in teams, keeping supervisors informed and maintaining strict confidentiality. Schedule includes day hours with evening shifts on a per-event basis and potential inclement weather reporting. Wages range from $18.50 to $22.00 hourly based on experience and qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Walk up and down stairs
- Walk/stand for long periods
- Must be able to work on high ladders and personnel lifts
- A high school or equivalent trade school diploma
- 2 to 5 years of general building maintenance, or building trades experience preferred
- A valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record is required
- Must possess a high degree of interpersonal competence
- Practice good judgment, discretion and confidentiality when dealing with work issues
- Must be able to remain calm and professional in all situations
- Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous and professional manner with all levels within the organization and outside the organization
- Basic courtesy, diplomatic abilities, and a pleasant demeanor are critical to this position
- Must be able to calculate figures
- Must be able to read, analyze and interpret written material and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
