Job Summary
Maintenance Painter responsible for matching and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touch ups, and coordinating large painting projects by using painting equipment and painting practices currently in use in the profession. Responsibilities include meeting with clients to discuss color and finish options, inspecting properties for general upkeep, maintaining painting logs, estimating time and material costs, selecting and purchasing paint and supplies from vendors, preparing sites by moving furniture and equipment, scraping/sanding/priming/sealing surfaces, applying paint with brushes/rollers/airless sprayer, protecting nearby furnishings, cleaning and maintaining tools, site cleanup, replacing window/door hardware and glass, operating aerial lifts and forklifts, attending safety training, contributing to team tasks, and reading architectural drawings. Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with a licensed contractor and large-scale exterior commercial painting, as well as the ability to read drawings to identify needs for outside contractors.
Required Qualifications

- Current, valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Understanding of the color spectrum and ability to recognize proper color matching
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including related work experience in one or more of the building trades
- General to advanced knowledge of maintenance procedures, including but not limited to building, repair, installation, breakdown, and project completion
- Experience using a variety of hand and power tools, and the ability to perform a variety of physical labor, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for long periods of time; lifting and carrying boxes, tools, equipment, and materials
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form as well as follow oral and written instructions, establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments
