Job Summary
Perform plant maintenance and uphold MSHA safety policies at Hazleton Quarry. Maintain clean work areas including catwalks and walkways while proactively learning plant functions and operations. Cross train to learn all plant jobs and substitute when necessary, taking direction from and working in a team with all other site personnel. Obtain all knowledge to complete assigned tasks and other duties as assigned. Located near Weatherly, PA, Hazleton Quarry provides construction aggregate products. The H&K Group, Inc. offers complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR related experience and/or training
- At least 1+ years of quarry experience
- 1+ years of welding experience or equivalent training
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to stand and walk regularly
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must be able to sit occasionally
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Must have depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to work around moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work in outside weather conditions
- Must be able to work in high, precarious places
- Must be able to work around fumes or airborne particles
- Must be able to work around vibration
- Must be able to work with occasional risk of electrical shock
- Must be able to work in a loud noise level environment
- Must be able to work in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or other outdoor industrial setting
- MSHA or other relevant safety certification
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ months related experience
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Strong preference for Loader operation experience
