Job Summary
Maintenance Operative role at Copper Beech Care Home (Uckfield, UK) focused on ensuring facilities remain fully functional, performing building and equipment maintenance, completing health and safety/compliance checks, managing repairs and quotes, supporting refurbishment/capex programmes with minimal resident disruption, and assisting with induction and emergency procedures. Requires driving licence and a qualification in building services or equivalent hands-on experience; strong knowledge of heating, water distribution, ventilation, electrical systems, plumbing, building fabric, routine maintenance, safety regulations, and customer service; willingness to travel within a regional area for maintenance support.
Required Qualifications
- A good understanding of building services including, heating, hot and cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing
- Sound understanding of building fabric and its maintenance
- Practical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keeping
- Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and experience of compliance
- A full driving licence
- A building/electrical/plumbing qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc) or a minimum of 3 years hand on experience in property maintenance and general repairs where possible
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Computer literate
- Good Customer service skills
- Be flexible to meet changing demands within the care home
- Practical ability and experience in painting and decorating
