Maintenance Onboarding Specialist

Job Summary
Coordinate onboarding schedules and deliver orientation, systems training, safety instruction, and job shadowing for maintenance and facilities new hires across assigned properties. Conduct property tours to explain site layouts, critical systems, and emergency procedures while reinforcing Beacon policies, resident service expectations, and OSHA safety standards. Track completion of documentation, certifications, and training records; partner with Regional Maintenance Directors, Property Managers, and site teams to assess new hire readiness and operational consistency. Travel to properties and training locations for in-person coaching and follow-up support, maintaining accurate onboarding checklists and recommending updates to improve effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Three (3)+ years of experience in property maintenance, facilities operations, onboarding, property management support, or a related field
- Ability to move about & around properties and training spaces
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders
- Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, or reach
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as needed
- Ability to travel between properties and training locations, as needed
- Overnight stays may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree, vocational training, or coursework in facilities management, building systems, training, education, human resources, or a related field
- Solid experience delivering training, coaching, or orientation programs
- Experience with maintenance systems, work order processes, safety procedures, and multi-site property operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Yardi or similar systems
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage onboarding schedules, maintain accurate records, and follow through on multiple priorities across assigned properties
- Working knowledge of building systems, maintenance terminology, resident service expectations, and workplace safety practices
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
