Job Summary
Maintain all property areas and surroundings by completing work orders, troubleshooting appliances, and coordinating unit preparations for new residents. Execute daily cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, and landscape care such as mowing and snow removal. Perform regular inspections of vestibules, lobbies, hallways, laundry rooms, elevators, trash rooms, stairwells, restrooms, and social rooms. Manage vacant units through reconditioning, painting, and annual inspections while addressing plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues. Respond to emergencies 24/7 and coordinate with vendors for large projects. Maintain the annual maintenance budget and assist in training other staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- One (1) or more years of related experience
- A valid driver's license is required if assigned to travel between multiple locations
- Must obtain and maintain mandatory, state and federal requirements and certifications for practice or occupation
- General knowledge and experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, carpentry, basic maintenance
- Ability to be adept at using a wide variety of hand and power tools, yard care equipment, etc, as pertaining to general maintenance
- Ability to quickly identify and solve problems, as pertaining to general maintenance
- Ability to perceive and recommend preventative maintenance measures
- Must be able to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook
- On-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency situations
