Job Summary
Maintenance Director oversees and administers a comprehensive facility maintenance program for a nursing home environment, directing maintenance operations for facilities, grounds, equipment, and furnishings to ensure a clean, safe, attractive, and healthy place for residents, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include organizing and leading maintenance activities, ensuring life-safety compliance, developing and implementing preventive and corrective maintenance plans (HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems), maintaining an efficient work order system, overseeing safety, budgeting, inventory, and procurement, supervising maintenance personnel and scheduling, coordinating with local agencies, and communicating with administrators, residents, and staff. The role requires strong leadership, integrity, English communication, and computer competence in facility maintenance software and data management, plus a valid driver’s license and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Four years of experience in construction and/or property management with at least one year in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of construction codes, health and safety regulations, financial and management practices
- Driver's license with no serious violations
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Integrity and initiative
- Interpersonal skills with residents, staff, administration, and visitors
- Effective English communication (oral and written)
- Computer usage for facility maintenance management software, word processing, data management, and telecommunications
- Criminal record history check
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status evidence (I-9 compliance)
- Ability to fulfill job functions with reasonable accommodation
