Job Summary
As a Maintenance Officer in our Taringa community, you will perform reactive and preventative maintenance to ensure homes and shared spaces are safe, functional, and well-presented. Responsibilities include general repairs and handyperson tasks (painting, picture hanging, light replacements), small plumbing maintenance (replacing taps and washers), upkeep of external assets (lighting, sprinkler systems), scheduled maintenance across the community, and maintaining safe, organized tools and equipment. You’ll record maintenance activities, engage positively with residents, and work closely with a supportive team in a friendly, resident-focused environment. This role is part-time (Mon-Wed 8:00am-3:30pm; Thu 8:00am-3:00pm) in Brisbane, offering a competitive rate and benefits. A valid driver’s licence and vaccination requirements are part of the role, with opportunities to contribute to a meaningful retirement living community.
Required Qualifications
- A valid driver’s licence (essential)
- Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
- Experience in a general maintenance or trade-based role, including hands-on handyperson tasks
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident-friendly way
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach and ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action
