Job Summary
Maintenance position performing park grounds, equipment and facilities upkeep with a part-time schedule up to 40 hours per week; responsibilities include mowing, landscaping, operating small engine equipment, planting beds, litter removal, repairing facilities such as fences and lighting, maintaining electrical/plumbing/HVAC systems, operating park vehicles, cleaning and organizing maintenance shop, restroom/picnic shelter upkeep, assisting with staff meetings and safety reporting, and public inquiries support.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma with minimum of one year experience in park maintenance work, or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- Ability to operate small engine equipment properly and safely.
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicles with standard transmissions.
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to make minor repairs on equipment.
- Knowledge of park maintenance procedures and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public.
- Ability to learn the operation of the facility.
- Strength and dexterity for all tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in tiring positions.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work a variable schedule, including early/late hours, weekends and holidays.
- Possession of or ability to obtain valid driver’s license, maintain safe driving record.
