Maintenance Mold Technician

Job Summary
Perform routine preventive maintenance, repair molds via welding and machining, and oversee all work orders and SMED changes for production tooling. Manage mold downtime reports, organize inserts and maintain inventory stock, and initiate purchase orders for parts. Direct team members on daily workload, collaborate with vendors, and work closely with the Quality department to reduce scrap and improve plant efficiency. Participate in the on-call program and adhere to strict safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout and 5S standards. Requires 3-5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience and proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years' experience in a maintenance-related position within a manufacturing environment
- equivalent combination of training and experience
- Strong understanding of injection mold design, function, and materials
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
- Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
- Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
