Job Summary
Maintain machinery throughout the mill to ensure efficient operations and decreased unscheduled machine down-time by proficiently performing at least one recognized primary mechanical craft such as pipefitting, welding, or instrumentation. Change out equipment, safely operate a variety of tools and company vehicles including forklifts and overhead cranes, and hold self and others to high-level safety standards by enforcing lockout/tagout procedures and proper PPE. Participate in safety incidents to investigate root causes and operate, maintain, and inspect equipment for compliance with environmental regulations and procedural reporting. This role requires a physically demanding 10- to 12-hour shift including nights, weekends, and holidays, with overtime as needed, for a candidate with at least five years of continuous experience in high-speed manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Certified in one or more of the site's recognized mechanical primary crafts
- Able to demonstrate skills and perform work proficiently on his/her own in certified primary crafts
- Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment
- Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 10 or 12-hour shift
- Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally
- Able to work a primarily 10-hour shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays
- Able to work overtime as needed
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree in Electro/mechanical Technology or Industrial Maintenance
- Minimum 5 years continuous work experience in a high-speed manufacturing, production, industrial, or labor-intensive work environment as a maintenance mechanic
