Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanic/Welder performs preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance and welding on mining and mobile equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting vehicles, performing welding repairs, conducting quality PM inspections, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues on mining equipment, repairing failures, and coordinating with team members to ensure efficient use of manpower, equipment, and time. The role requires reading and interpreting documents and drawings, writing detailed repair reports, and using Cat ET/Cat SIS and Cummins Insite. The position emphasizes safety, collaboration across the organization, and accountability for maintenance outcomes. Physical work includes lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in varied conditions including cold, heat, and high-noise environments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years related experience and/or training
- Experience with mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
- Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings and write detailed repair reports
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Good organizational and planning skills
