Job Summary
Perform necessary repairs and maintenance on warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, highlifts, and forklifts to ensure day and night operations function efficiently. Review equipment reports submitted by associates, record repair actions, and maintain logs per USF policy. Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery, manage the battery-charging area, and secure company tools and equipment. Comply with all safety guidelines including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and perform light maintenance duties like painting and rack repairs. Requires six months of mechanic experience and welding ability. Schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with pay starting at $25 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of six months previous mechanic experience
- Knowledge of equipment repair and operation
- able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment
- welding ability
- able to read and write legibly
- able to follow orders
- basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- able to work with little direct supervision
Desired Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- additional mechanic training
- trade school degree
