Job Summary
Perform necessary repairs and maintenance on warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, high-lifts, and forklifts to ensure day and night operations remain functional. Review equipment reports, record repair actions, and maintain logs per USF policy while executing preventative maintenance schedules. Comply with all safety guidelines including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and secure the battery-charging area. Manage company tools, inventory, and storage, purchasing additional equipment from local vendors when authorized. Additionally, handle light maintenance duties including light bulb replacement, painting, and basic structural repairs. Requires high school education, six months of mechanic experience, and welding ability. Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at $25 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of six months previous mechanic experience
- Knowledge of equipment repair and operation
- Welding ability
- Able to read and write legibly
- Able to follow orders
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Able to work with little direct supervision
Desired Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Additional mechanic training
- Trade school degree
