Job Summary
Conduct inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on plant and quarry equipment to maximize uptime and support production goals. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using precision tools to minimize downtime and perform timely rebuilds. Execute lockout/tagout procedures, align rotating equipment, and support major repairs or plant outages while maintaining strict safety and regulatory compliance. Complete work orders, document findings, and manage inventory parts accurately. Maintain clean work areas and operate mobile equipment as required.
Required Qualifications
- Comply with all company, MSHA, and regulatory safety policies and procedures
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify zero energy state prior to performing maintenance activities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
- Disassemble, repair, and rebuild crushing, screening, and conveying equipment
- Install, maintain, and align mechanical components including bearings, belts, chains, and rotating equipment
- Install and support pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Perform basic welding, torch cutting, and acetylene work
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and environmental systems
- Utilize precision tools (e.g., micrometers, dial indicators)
- Install and align new equipment using proper mechanical techniques and tools
- Perform shaft alignments and equipment setup with precision alignment tools
- Support rigging and lifting activities
- Operate mobile equipment
- Support plant outages and assist with major repairs or projects
