Job Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment by performing preventative, predictive, and corrective mechanical maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Read and interpret equipment drawings and schematics while executing safe startup and shutdown procedures. Partner with Production and the Maintenance Planner to ensure equipment reliability, manage spare parts inventory using FIFO practices, and utilize the CMMS to document work orders and maintain accurate repair records. Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout procedures. Assist with capital project planning and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Work continental shifts at a rate of $50.50 CAD/hour in Mississauga, ON.
Required Qualifications
- Industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Strong organizational skills and experience managing spare parts inventory
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Commitment to workplace safety and following established maintenance procedures
- Ability to identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electrical safety, energy isolation (Lockout/Tagout), OSHA regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and plant safety standards
- Experience performing preventative, predictive, and corrective mechanical maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Experience performing equipment startup and shutdown procedures safely and efficiently
- Experience maintaining the maintenance spare parts crib using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices
- Experience supporting the Maintenance Planner by helping maintain appropriate spare parts inventory levels
- Experience documenting repairs and completed work orders in a CMMS
- Experience uploading drawings, safety documents, parts lists, and technical documentation to a CMMS
- Experience supporting maintenance planning and scheduling in a CMMS
- Experience preparing and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation and repair records
- Experience assisting with capital project planning, capital authorization requests, and project tracking
- Experience evaluating maintenance procedures and recommending improvements that increase equipment reliability and efficiency
- Experience participating in Global Performance System (GPS) initiatives and continuous improvement activities
