Job Summary

Supervise maintenance personnel and oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment and systems, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and steam operations. Generate or adapt technology to meet plant needs, assist in developing the annual operating budget, and monitor expenditures for materials and labor. Train, coach, and evaluate staff performance while ensuring timely completion of all required maintenance and repairs. Manage preventive maintenance programs for the Toma Tek facility in Firebaugh, CA, supporting production requirements and process improvement initiatives. Requires an Associate of Science degree in engineering, two years of direct supervision experience, and proficiency in maintenance management software.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Two (2) years of direct experience in maintenance supervision, including process analysis, troubleshooting, and the execution of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to lead and manage large teams, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with safety standards, and achievement of production goals
  • Strong background in food manufacturing environments, with hands-on experience in preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and root cause analysis
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Ability to pass a background check including employment and educational verification
  • Ability to pass a credit screen
  • Ability to work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift needed during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October

Desired Qualifications

  • Specialized expertise in tomato processing operations, including aseptic processing systems and formulated sauce production, with a focus on optimizing thermal efficiency, steam control, and mechanical reliability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software (preferably AMMS)
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
