Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanic responsible for facility and equipment upkeep at the hospital’s main campus and owned off-site facilities, including inspection and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment, installation of electrical circuits and piping, reading blueprints, responding to maintenance calls for HVAC systems, ice machines, drainage, and related components, performing preventative maintenance on assets, ensuring compliance with Life Safety Codes, and documenting tasks. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in building trades preferred, refrigerant certification within 6 months, valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to lift 100 pounds. Emphasizes hands-on mechanical/electrical work, safety compliance, and accurate record-keeping.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years preferred in two or more building crafts (e.g., plumbing, commercial electric work, refrigeration and air conditioning, pneumatics)
- Minimum Type I and II refrigerant transition and recovery certification within six months of hire
- Must have a valid and current state-issued driver's license
- Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance at applicant's expense
- Driving record must meet company standards (no suspended/revoked license, limits on violations/DUIs, etc.)
- Ability to lift at least 100 pounds
- Must be able to operate in a physically demanding environment
