Job Summary
Troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems including door auto operators, pneumatic tube systems, kitchen equipment, patient lifts, and medical gas outlets. Perform safety inspections on current and incoming equipment, order necessary parts and tools, and ensure all documentation conforms to JC standards. Assist supervisors with repairs, schedule jobs to minimize hospital disruption, and communicate repair status to departments. Maintain service and maintenance records, update operator manuals, and complete daily log sheets. Work weekend, holiday, and shift rotations to cover priority repairs and fill in for absences. Adhere to all safety policies and protective gear requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Coursework at Trade school or community college in related field
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Skilled trade license with related experience
- Experience in a healthcare facility
- Must be able to work reasonable extended hours to accomplish priority repairs and to fill in for disaster, vacation or illness coverage
- Is required to be included in the weekend, holiday and shift rotation
