Job Summary
Set up, repair, and maintain plant equipment, buildings, and grounds while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Work from wiring diagrams, schematics, and specifications to install, test, and maintain all types of plant equipment and facilities. Draft and fabricate fixturing, tooling, repair parts, or replacement parts using lathe, mill, and CNC machinery. Install and maintain wiring, conduit, and test circuits for continuity, and perform carpentry, painting, plumbing, pipe fitting, and masonry on equipment, building fixtures, and grounds. Identify components needed to complete tasks and safely operate maintenance shop equipment, power tools, welding equipment, and forklifts. Work independently with minimal supervision in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or related technical experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the basic fundamentals of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering drawings
- Proficiency within the guidelines of applicable building, electrical, fire, safety, and maintenance codes
- Ability to safely operate maintenance shop equipment, power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and lifting devices
- Experience using oscilloscopes and various meters to identify complex electrical waveforms in industrial-type equipment
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with maintenance software systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Welding and fabrication experience
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification
- Forklift operation certification
