Job Summary
Under the direction of the Working Foreman or supervisor, repair, maintain, and construct structures, equipment, and partitions using wood, metal, concrete, plaster, drywall, and roofing materials. Perform plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical tasks, including surface preparation, masking, painting application, and minor electrical repairs under supervision. Operate and maintain College equipment, tools, and vehicles safely while using appropriate hand or power tools. Replace window glass, repair drop ceilings, and prepare areas for painting by removing fixtures and covering furniture. Make repairs to journeyman standards and provide service to campus customers in a professional manner. Must be available for on-call emergencies after normal business hours, weekends, and after hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years of appropriate training and/or experience in particular the use of appropriate tools and power tools
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to respond to emergencies after hours and on weekends
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop and work in confined spaces
- Valid driver's license

- Carpentry experience
- Advance learning
- Knowledge and experience in plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical work with significant expertise in at least one of these areas
