Job Summary
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems across manufacturing equipment, motors, pumps, and conveyors. Install, maintain, and repair machinery while reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and operating under established safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out. Perform major electrical repairs on 3-phase, 440, and PLC systems, replace faulty components, and install lighting fixtures. Develop experimental equipment, clean and lubricate functional parts, and requisition new parts. Operate welding equipment for minor machine work and repairs, and perform carpenter, plumbing, and painter tasks as assigned. Maintain a clean work area and communicate shift problems to the Plant Engineer. Work the 3rd shift from 11:00pm to 7:00am at a starting rate of $28.93/hour. Forklift certification and lock-out/tag-out training are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED equivalent
- Previous related experience
- Basic mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit numbers including fractions
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight, measurement, and volume
- High degree of knowledge of equipment and aptitude for understanding mechanical systems through formal training and/or education
- Ability to perform repairs (including electrical)
- Uses and/or make special attachments when necessary
- Certified to operate forklift
- Trained in lock out/tag out procedures
- Must be able to read, write & understand basic English
- Able to communicate effectively, get along with coworkers & management and deal effectively & professionally under pressure
