Job Summary
Assist with necessary repairs of equipment, property, and the building while maintaining accurate communication with other mechanics and departments. Support station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment, effectively using electrical testing equipment. Initiate and conduct routine preventative maintenance (PM's) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision, and maintain shop 6s policies and cleanliness. Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate those to supervisors or lead persons. Perform these duties with minimal direct supervision, utilizing excellent mechanical aptitude to analyze and solve mechanical problems. Work nights Sunday through Thursday from 8:30pm to 5am at the Cold Spring Plant.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to pass a Prove It test
- Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
- Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
- Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience in maintenance field preferred
