Job Summary
Operate equipment and tools to perform maintenance, installations, and repairs on production and facility systems. Execute preventative maintenance schedules and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using manufacturer manuals and schematics. Repair off-road heavy equipment and work with overhead cranes while implementing cost-saving programs. Detect unusual conditions and report major maintenance needs to supervisors. Adhere strictly to Metromont and OSHA safety rules, environmental policies, and housekeeping standards. Requires knowledge of electrical systems up to 480 volts, diesel mechanics, and hydraulic systems.
Required Qualifications
- Perception and visual abilities must be good
- Must be safety-conscious
- Able to work independently
- Understanding of chemical safety
- Knowledge of electrical (up to 480 volts 3 phase)
- Knowledge of diesel mechanics
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Able to read tape measure to 1/16
- Intermediate reading, writing and math skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Trade or technical school certification or 2-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 1-2 years hands-on maintenance experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in repair of pneumatic hand tools and concrete vibrators preferred
